The Hunters Hill house project, designed with Sam Rigoli at Studio [R] Architecture and Design, is nearing completion. The project includes the refurbishment of an existing house (situated within a conservation area), and the addition of a new living pavilion to the rear. The pavilion, linked by a glass walkway, comprises a cedar-clad bedroom volume suspended above an open-plan living area. A new inground pool, small studio/guesthouse building, and a bbq area complete the composition within the extensive backyard area.
Mark Szczerbicki has recently been shortlisted for the 2014 Dulux Study Tour. The 5 winners will be selected and announced in March next year - best of luck to all the shortlisted entrants!
We have recently completed a major refurbishment of an original workers cottage in Birchgrove. The concept includes a dense zone along the party wall, which at only 90cm wide manages to contain a host of functions including stairs, storage, kitchen, bathroom, robes and light wells, while allowing minimal imposition on the remaining living spaces.
We are in the sketch design phase for a new house in Huntleys Cove. The house will sit on a sloping site surrounded by bushland, and located behind a heritage listed cottage. This photo shows an early model which we brought to site to test sunlight access and shadowing.
We have started work on a new alterations and additions project in Rodd Point. An existing brick cottage will be fully refurbished with a new living/dining/kitchen space created to improve the connection with the back yard.
